On of Toyota great parts, the best cruise control switch.

Watch out for that timing belt service. If the owner can't prove it was done, knock off $1k, minimum.

What about a LS430? Out of the two above, the SC. 1UZ > 2JZ.

Both.

2JZ-GE has a belt that should be replaced every 90k freedom distances

The 1UZ also has a belt... that should be replaced every 90k thingies.

first gen 1UZ < 2JZ. second gen 1UZ > 2JZ

Early 1UZs make 240hp and get like 13mpg. Later ones are interference engines and make 290hp and get 16mpg city. It’s an enormous difference.

The other apprentice in the shop (besides me) brought in her friends GS400 with 200,100 Miles  last week to take off the stance boi coilovers and mount new tires I offered him $3000 and he wouldn’t take it which I think is outrageous

Also right around the day I turned 22 and rescued a 140 pound dog I was converted to the big boaty comfortable and luxurious  club that’s how I ended up with a w123 the only car I’ve ever owned that I actually fit in

Have a 2002 IS, only real service I have had to do with it in the 4 years is replace the lower rear control arms in the front suspension.  I think maybe the GS is a similar design, look for wear on the inner part of the front tires.  Also, 95,000 miles, my car is a ticking time bomb.

I’ve embraced old man life in my GS. Funny thing with old Lexuses (Lexus’s, Lexi?), they’re either beat to snot or in great shape. Rarely any middle ground. Ones that are in great shape and have been well-maintained have tons of life left in them.

The 2GR makes it decidedly not slow, but not fast either.  300hp in a 3800lb car is... adequate.  But it’s soooooo smooth.  Definitely boaty.

Old man? Nonsense. The GS will let your Inner Forest Whitaker fly...
